Calton Hill Edinburgh Princess Street

If you remember, the last part of the Royal Mile, en route 4 - appeared Cannongate kirk, a church with a cemetery well, through the cemetery, and after walking a while .... and counting ... come to a hill where there are great views of Edinburgh, and some more stuff, we Calton Hill.
Across from the cemetery, we began to see something flashy, Old Royal High School here.
started rising ...

Well, we're almost there ..
Here a monument to the five years of democracy in Scotland, when he regained his power of decision, with its parliament.

Edinburgh Overview

On the hill itself, we have this ... So in some places quoted Edinburgh as the Athens of the North .. seems a bit exaggerated ...
The Acropolis is in fact an unfinished monument, originally called "Monument National. Inition was in 1816, one year after the defeat of Napoleon at Waterloo, for the memory of those fallen in the Napoleonic wars.
was called "the shame of Edinburgh", or "nonsense Edinburgh, but is now a popular landmark.

also find the Dugald Stewart Monument, a tribute to the Scottish philosopher which also was built on an example of Greek architecture.

can also find the Nelson Monument, a tower built between 1807 and 1815 to commemorate the victory Admiral Nelson at the Battle of Trafalgar.
And two observatories, the Old City and all these past monuments were restored and has covered my visit, so no images.
